Generating a Prop 65 warning label
California Proposition 65 warnings — when they're required and how to produce a label in Aleph.
California Proposition 65 requires a clear and reasonable warning before exposing people in California to a listed chemical. The content of the safe-harbor warnings is set out in 27 CCR 25603; see Understanding Prop 65 for what each format must say.
Inside Aleph, the flow looks like this:
- Open the product's Compliance tab (Prop 65 must be switched on for the product)
- In the Prop 65 Safe Harbor Assessment card, choose the warning type (cancer, reproductive harm, or both), the listed chemicals, and the label format
- Save
- Choose Download Label PDF
INFO: Aleph does not calculate exposure or decide whether a warning is required. That determination is yours. Aleph records the answers you enter and produces a label from them. Before you print it, check the wording against 27 CCR 25603, since the required short-form text changed on January 1, 2025.
