CPSC’s recall database lists 300+ recalls a year. If you import toys, children’s clothing, nursery products, or kids’ accessories, products subject to a children’s product safety rule need a Children’s Product Certificate. Children’s products subject to a children’s product safety rule must be certified in a Children’s Product Certificate based on third-party testing. An imported product not accompanied by a required certificate shall be refused admission (15 U.S.C. 2066(a)).
Manufacturers and importers of children’s products must keep testing periodically — at least once a year unless a longer interval under 16 CFR 1107.21(c) or (d) applies — even if nothing about the product changed.
CPSC’s recall database lists more than 300 recalls in each of 2023, 2024, and 2025. Knowing violations of the Consumer Product Safety Act can carry civil penalties of up to $100,000 each before inflation adjustments (15 U.S.C. 2069).

Upload the CPC you issued to the product. Under 16 CFR 1110.11, a certificate must contain: product identification, each rule certified to, the certifier, the records custodian, date and place of manufacture, date and place of testing, and the attestation.
Give a lab report or certificate an expiration date and Aleph emails you a digest before it comes due, so a periodic test doesn’t slip.
Children’s products need permanent distinguishing marks on the product and its packaging, to the extent practicable (15 U.S.C. 2063(a)(5)). Aleph lists the requirement with its citation; the marks themselves are applied by you and your factory.
