Generating a CPC for your children's product

Children's Product Certificate — what's required and how to generate it.

A Children's Product Certificate (CPC) is required by CPSIA for any product designed primarily for children 12 or under. The CPC certifies that your product has been tested by a CPSC-accepted laboratory and meets all applicable safety rules.

Required fields (7):

  1. Product description
  2. Citation of each applicable rule (e.g., ASTM F963, 16 CFR 1303)
  3. Manufacture date and location
  4. Test date and location
  5. CPSC-accepted lab name and address
  6. Importer / manufacturer name and address
  7. Contact for test record requests

WARNING: Lab tests are valid for 12 months. Your CPC is only as current as your most recent test — set a renewal reminder.
